TOPEKA, Kan.
- Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, a pro-abortion
"Catholic," was sworn in January 13 as the new governor of
Kansas, its second woman governor.
The AP reported: "The day's events
began with about 500 people at a prayer service at Assumption Church,
near the Statehouse. Sebelius is a parishioner at the Roman Catholic
Church.
"The service drew a few
anti-abortion protesters and one abortion rights supporter. Sebelius
supports abortion rights."
Appeals were made to Kansas City's
Archbishop James Patrick Keleher, to no avail. Among those appealing
to Archbishop Keleher was American Life League's Judie Brown:

Most Rev. James Patrick Keleher,
It has recently come to our attention
that Assumption Parish, a parish within your jurisdiction, is
scheduled to host an inauguration interfaith service for pro-abortion
"Catholic" Governor-elect Kathleen Sebelius.
With all due respect, Your Excellency,
and on behalf of the over 350,000 families supporting our work, we
implore you to take decisive action (as you alone have the authority
to do) and act now to prevent this disgraceful and scandalous event
from occurring in the house of God -- a place where Christ truly is
present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Your Excellency, the Church teaches
that the act of abortion is intrinsically evil. Governor-elect
Kathleen Sebelius favors and promotes the intrinsically evil act of
abortion.
As an Archbishop, we believe that
banning this pro-abortion politician from sacred ground is not only
your obligation as a shepherd, but is likewise an incredible
opportunity for you to witness to the Catholic Church's 2000 plus
years tradition of defending and preserving all innocent human beings
from conception to natural death.
